As you can see from the picture above the Toy Drive this year turned out to be an amazing success. We were able to donate a very large collection of great toys which will be given to children in need this holiday season. The Capilano Club should be very proud of this contribution to the community. These gifts have been given to the North Shore Salvation Army and the North Shore Christmas Bureau. These two organizations were very appreciative of the donations and said they were low on donations this year compared to other years. We happily helped boost the stock again this year.
The event also collected non-perishable food items. The North Shore Food Bank will distribute these items to those in need on the North Shore. It is also good to remind everyone that they accept these donations year round.
Many thanks are in order for making this such a great event. Firstly, a big thanks to everyone who attended and donated toys/food; the donations were very generous and greatly appreciated. The club was full of people the majority of the day and it was great to see everyone.
Thanks to the Senior Women’s Program for decorating the clubhouse and the tree. They did a great job making the place look festive. Thanks to the Snowcaps for donating the Christmas tree this year. Thanks to Mia Hill for helping load up the trucks and drop off all the toys at the two locations.
Thanks to Pauntehah and Tim for all their work around the club before, during and after the Toy Drive. Lastly thanks to the Capilano executive for supporting this event every year.
Best wishes to everyone this holiday season, I hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. See you all in the New Year.
