CRFC looking to fill roles for bar manager and clubhouse manager

The Capilano Rugby Club has two job openings coming up. All the details are listed below. If any club members know of anyone who meets all the requirements below and would be a good addition to our club, please forward these postings on to them.

Capilano Rugby Football Club Bar Manager

Job Summary

The Capilano Rugby Club is currently searching for a Bar Manager to join the Capilano family. The Capilano Rugby Club is located in West Vancouver and draws the majority of its members from the North Shore of Vancouver. The club primarily hosts a number of rugby games throughout the year on Saturdays between September and May as well as other private events such as, weddings, reunions and fundraisers. The club is known for having an electric atmosphere during home games and is widely considered to be the best rugby venue in Canada.

Responsibilities 

As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for driving the business, possessing a genuine sense of ownership to the overall success of the operation. Bar Manager’s responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee staffing and operation of the bar;
  • Liaising with the District of West Vancouver and maintain ongoing dialogue with the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch of B.C;
  • Ordering, pick up and receive deliveries and maintain up to date records of all orders;
  • Regular accounting of all inventory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic supplies, clothing, club dues, etc;
  • Programming and maintaining reports for the Squirrel POS system;
  • Balancing deposits from each event, game-day gate and attire orders or fundraising initiatives;
  •  Updating monthly GST/PST ensuring these deposits are handed over to the club treasurer on a timely bimonthly or monthly basis;
  • Attend monthly Capilano RFC executive meetings.
Supervision Received
This position will work closely with the club President and Treasurer and will report directly to the Capilano Rugby Club Executive Board.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar position with a proven track record managing a team
  • Well established bartending skills – has worked in a med-high volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated inventory management, controls and systems
  • Exceptional relations with suppliers and sales reps
  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Open availability with evenings and weekends a must
  • Ideal candidate will additionally take on role of Facility Manager

Job Posting - Capilano Rugby Football Club Facility Manager

Job Summary

The Capilano Rugby Club is currently searching for a Facility Manager to join the Capilano family. The Capilano Rugby Club is located in West Vancouver and draws the majority of its members from the North Shore of Vancouver. The club primarily hosts a number of rugby games throughout the year on Saturdays between September and May as well as other private events such as, weddings, reunions and fundraisers. The club is known for having an electric atmosphere during home games and is widely considered to be the best rugby venue in Canada.

Responsibilities 

The Facility Manager will oversee the day to day operations within the Capilano Clubhouse. This includes the full execution of internal and external events at the Capilano Rugby Club. Facility Manager’s responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Communicate with various club-affiliated parties regarding the ATM, bottle return, TV/Internet issues, bar and club related sponsors, fire/security alarm incidents, janitorial visits, ensure bathroom supplies are stocked;
  •  Keep ongoing tally of scheduled events on the and in the clubhouse ensuring there are no conflicts. Regular schedule updates. Advise social committee on security/gate/schedule concerns for club-organized events or parties;
  • Laundry and rental equipment organization / drop off / pick up;
  • Oversee organization of Thursday and Saturday team meals, liaise with kitchen/cleaning staff to ensure food hosting duties and janitorial services are organized before/after game days and events;
  • Collect expense receipts and rectify with the club’s credit card monthly;
  • Handle field and clubhouse rental requests via phone, in person or email ensuring no venue  conflicts. Collect rental deposits and fees. Meet prospective clients and answer venue questions;
  • Maintain and update outside event rental schedule, ensuring no conflicts;
  • Ensure club’s A/V systems are set up/working in advance of events and taken down after. Meet clients early on the day of event to allow entry and setup;
  • Keep tally of invoices for all events/rentals. Ensure fees are collected. Submit receipts/invoices to club treasurer with the nightly deposit sheet;
  • Attend monthly Capilano RFC executive meetings.
Supervision Received
Facility Manager will report directly to the Capilano Executive.

Supervision Given
The Facility Manager will oversee all club operations and will work with Field Manager on a regular basis.
