Five Capilano RFC teams are in action tomorrow including a club vs club rugby day at┬áBurnaby Lake. The Capilano 3B’s are also on the road this weekend as they take on the Scribes. Sunday will also see the Snowcaps defending the Fortress against the NOBS.

Saturday starts with the Capilano Premier Women playing Burnaby Lake. This is the first regular season game for the Capilano Women having played exhibition games since September. Burnaby comes in having started their regular season last weekend with a close 26-19 loss against a strong Seattle team. The Caps have had strong numbers at training this season including a few new players. They look to start the season off with a win against their mainland rival. Kickoff is at 11:30am on Field 2 at Burnaby Lake.

Also at 11:30am the Capilano U23 Academy team will take on the Burnaby Lake 3rd Division. This season the young Capilano team is 2-0 with wins over the Rowing Club and UBC. This will be a tough match up going against the experience of Burnaby Lake. The 3rd Division side from Burnaby comes in with a 3-0 record with 130 points for and 13 points against. The club looks forward to watching the young Capilano players take another step forward this weekend. This match will take place on Field 1 at Burnaby Lake.

The Capilano and Burnaby Lake 1st Division teams have been at or near the top of the table more many of the previous years. They always run out strong teams and play extra hard against each other. This weekend will be no different. Burnaby enters with a 3-1 record while the Caps sit a 2-1. This should be another entertaining chapter to this strong rivalry. Kickoff is at 1:00pm on Field 1 at Burnaby Lake.

At 2:30pm the Capilano 3B’s travel to Gordon Park at 49th and Commercial Drive to take on the Scribes. This has been a tough season so far for the Caps 3B’s with many players moving up to fill in at 1st Division and the young players with the Academy. The Caps come into the match with an 0-2 record while Scribes enter with a 1-2 record. Please note the start time and location as they are both different from the usual.

At 2:30pm the Capilano Premier Men take on the Burnaby Lake Premier Men. Burnaby enters the match at the top of the table with a perfect 4-0 record. This will be a tough match up for the Caps who have struggled to score points this season. The Capilano Premier Men hope to rise to the occasion against a strong club rival. These two team typically play some of their best rugby against each other. This game shouldn’t be missed! The Premier match will take place on Field 2 at Burnaby Lake.
